April 2026

Tallington Flood & Drainage repairs update as at 16th April 2026.

The multi coloured pavement markings that appeared throughout the village at the end of March and the beginning of April are survey markings on behalf of National Grid not Anglian Water, indicating the various underground services. It is anticipated that National Grid will shortly be restarting the installation of 3 pipes from the junction of Mill Lane along the Main road towards Uffington. No confirmation of dates have so far been received. Some manhole covers were not properly put back during the survey creating trip hazards and these have been reported to LCC Highways.
The council have now received the Environment Agencies detailed report on the 6 areas of badger damage/sets identified in mid-March in and around the river banks from Tallington bridge toward Copt Hill together with an indication of timescales for the repairs of 3 to 12 months. The large badger set under the road at the river bridge has been reported to LCC highways. Highways works on the Main road scheduled for March were not fully completed due to emergency work elsewhere and as advised on the WhatsApp community group the remaining works were rescheduled for 10th to 13th April.
There are no new updates on Network Rail and Anglian Water repairs. New updates on any scheduled work will be posted on the council website and via the WhatsApp community group as and when received and if before the next monthly report.
