Tallington Parish Council
Minutes of Annual Parish Meeting held on Wednesday 28th May 2025
 
Present: Chair Cllr P Sagar, Clerk N Smith and 4 members of public.
 
Minutes
 
1/25. Opening of Meeting: Cllr Sagar welcomed everyone to the meeting.
 
2/25. To agree and sign Minutes of Annual Parish Meeting held on 28th May 2024: 
Cllr J Smith proposed, seconded Cllr J Knox. Minutes signed by Chair, Cllr Sagar.  
 
3/25. To receive the Annual Report from Chair of the Parish Council: 
Cllr Sagar advised that the report had been posted on the Parish Council website and hard copies will be distributed with the Towers & Spires June magazine to all village homes. 
 
Cllr Sagar talked through main points:  
- The Post Office run on a Tuesday in the Village Hall will close on 24th June 2025. 
               Adele is retiring and Post Office Services will not be replacing her.
       - The defibrillator is checked monthly, and a quarterly report is sent to EMAS.
 
4/25. To receive a report on Tallington Village Hall and Playing Field Association: 
No formal report received from Chair of Association but Cllr Sagar updated the meeting as Council representative on the VH&PFA. 
• Bookings of the Hall are up
• There was no interest shown in running VE Day celebration
• Playing Field stone walls have been repaired thanks to a grant from UK Shared Prosperity Fund administered by SKDC (part of levelling up grants)
• more committee volunteers needed.
• The bench in the PF is dilapidated and falling apart.
 
5/25. To receive a report on Edward Heron Trust: Louise Thurlby had sent a report stating the accounts are correct, and #2 Heron’s Cottages is still available as the tenancy offer was turned down. LT is the contact for interested parties.
 
6/25. Neighbourhood Watch: Tallington NW is still registered with the organisation.
 A volunteer is needed to run it.
       
7/25. Parish Plan/Flood Plan: Both plans are on the Tallington Parish Council website.
The Parish Plan was written in 2008/9 and needs updating.
The Council has purchased 100 AquaSacs through SKDC. Households affected by the flooding will be contacted to see if they would like a few AquaSacs.
 
8/25. Public Forum: nothing raised.
    
9/25. Date of Next Meeting: Agreement in principal reached that APM be held before the ordinary Parish Council Meeting on 18th March 2026. Further discussion required.
