Minutes of Annual Parish Meeting
held on Tuesday 28th May 2024
Present: Chair Cllr P Sagar, Vice Chair Cllr J Smith, Cllr J Brocklebank,
D Cllr R Trollop-Bellew, Clerk W Gray and 12 members of public.
Minutes
1. Opening of Meeting: Cllr Sagar welcomed everyone to the meeting.
2. Apologies for Absence: Cllrs J Knox and R Sorrell, D Cllr V Smith, M Franklin.
- C Cllr A Baxter will attend later.
3. To agree minutes of Annual Parish Meeting held on 16th May 2023: Cllr J Smith proposed, seconded Cllr Brocklebank. All in agreement for minutes to be signed.
4. To receive Matters arising from the Parish Councils Report: Cllr Sagar advised report had been distributed via email and hard copy delivered to over 200 homes. The report will also be posted on the Parish Council Website.
Cllr Sagar talked through main points: Issues raised
- Does the defibrillator need a service?
- On 4th May NR tried to clear blocked culvert at the Rail Crossing but failed due to fear of collapse from ingrowing tree roots.
- EA, AW, NR and LCC due to meet with Parish Council in June.
- On 22nd May there was again a problem due to rising ground water on Mill Lane.
5. Public Forum: Member of public raised question of who will own the plan to resolve flooding issues being discussed by the various agencies.
6. Parish Plan/Flood Plan: the Flood Plan has been added to the Tallington Parish Council website.
7. To receive a report on Tallington Village Hall: no formal report but Cllr Sagar updated the meeting on current issues and the need for more committee volunteers.
8. Edward Heron Trust: L Isaacs reported that – Money was given towards a pump, to be owned and managed by TPC, to help with future flooding issues.
- Christmas gifts had been distributed.
9. Neighbourhood Watch: no report.
10. County & District Councillor’s reports: – C Cllr A Baxter absent.
- D Cllr V Smith report main item was that the deadline for Mallard Pass representations is 30th June.
11. Date of Next Meeting: Date in late May 2025 to be confirmed.
